Your Life as a Work of Art with Martin Stepek

Join renowned mindfulness author and teacher Martin Stepek as he describes your own life as an opportunity to create, moment by moment, an appreciation of beauty, love, and compassion. We are shaped by events and our thoughts all the time, but if we can control our own mind we can in effect become the creator and nurturer of our life, rather than just be affected by outside events. In this way we can make our own life an ongoing work of art. This event will include a mindfulness meditation.

Martin is one of Scotland's most respected and popular mindfulness teachers. Author of two books on the subject and writer of a weekly column on the subject in the Sunday Herald, he is also a prize-winning poet, and the recipient of the prestigious Polish award, the Gold Cross of Merit. His wide-ranging studies have included Buddhism, East Asian Poetry, and the neuroscience of happiness and peace of mind. He serves on the Choose Life group, the pan-Lanarkshire suicide prevention body.
