Coalburn Leisure Complex swim lessons safety measures

Coalburn Leisure Complex swim lessons safety measures

The following measures and procedures have been implemented to ensure a return to swimming lessons is safe and practical at Coalburn Leisure Complex

The measures cover each step of the participant’s journey from home to site and home again. These measures will always be in place and remain under continual review. SLLC will follow the guidance from the Scottish Government and governing bodies.

Procedures will be updated as and when the guidance changes with the gradual lifting of social restrictions.

General customer rules and key points to stop the spread of Coronavirus

Do not come to the pool if you are showing any symptoms of COVID-19 (temperature, cough, or loss of taste or smell). You can find the latest guidance on the NHS Inform Website

No one who is self-isolating should attend a sports facility or activity.

A face covering should be worn before and after your activity, in communal areas of the facility such as reception, changing areas and corridors.

Please use the hand sanitiser provided as you enter the facility.

Swimming lesson safety procedures at Coalburn Leisure Complex

Below you will find a step-by-step guide on the new processes for before, during and after your lesson.

Small Child Swimmer (help with changing)

Small child swimmers (who require help changing) should be accompanied by one adult per child to assist with changing in line with the steps below.

No viewing or spectating area is available within the facility due to limited space and an inability to accommodate safe distancing, in line with Government guidelines. Adults should leave the facility after assisting or dropping of their child.

If the child swimmer is under 8 years old, adults must remain close to the premises, outdoors or in the car park, in case their assistance is required. Please speak with our centre staff to ensure we the most up to date contact number for you.

Child Swimmer (changing on own)

Older children will enter poolside and change by themselves. They will use the chairs on poolside before the lesson and the changing cubicles afterwards. When the lesson is finished, adults should meet their child/children outside, at the main entrance. We understand this may be daunting for some of our younger children, but we will have plenty of staff around the area to assist should there be any confusion.

You will know in advance which route your child should follow. We would be grateful if you could chat to the children about this before re-starting so they know things are slightly different. Please also let them know there will be lots of staff on hand to help.
