Charlie Cook's Favourite Book

A Little Angel Theatre and Lowry co-production.

Based on the original book Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

Charlie loves reading. Especially books about pirates. But his sister hates it - it’s boring!  Can Charlie convince her that reading is fun? Perhaps if she read a book about a pirate, who is reading a book about Goldilocks, who is reading a book about a knight…

Come and delve into a range of books with Charlie Cook, brought to life with puppetry and enchanting songs, and perhaps you will be able to help his sister discover the wonderful world inside a book.

About the Company

Now in our 18th year, Sweet for Addicts is a Not-for-Profit organisation involving people whose lives have been touched by addiction and have used the Arts as cathartic therapy. The people who perform with Sweet for Addicts have a connection with addiction through themselves, a loved one, friend, acquaintance or family member. They may know these people or be addicts/alcoholics themselves, but the most important aspect of the organisation is that the Arts are seen as part of their recovery. That recovery allows them to participate in an activity designed to examine the human condition whilst enjoying the company of people who have similar stories to tell and hopes to share. All participants are volunteers, their time given freely for your enjoyment.

Available to book online or by calling East Kilbride Arts Centre on 01355 261000.

Cost: £15.00 / £13.00 concession
