Shiona is deaf and has had to adapt to the changes of the enviroment around her throughout her entire life. This was inspired by her, to show that deafness is not to be treated so much like a disbility, and to provoke a change of attitude and awareness towards people who are deaf.
Script based on Shiona McClafferty's essay on her hearing loss.
Filmed, Directed and Edited by Amy Urquhart.

Live Music Now Free Recitals at 2

Founded by violinist Yehudi Menuhin, Live Music Now offers opportunities for emerging professional musicians, in a wide variety of genres, to perform for audiences who would not normally have access to high quality live music such as those in special schools, care homes, day centres, hospices and prisons.

Since the scheme was founded 35 years ago, the charity has brought pleasure and inspiration to hundreds of thousands of people at the same time as providing vital support and experience for some of the best of this country’s young musicians.

For this year’s Young At Heart festival, we are again bringing you another five fabulous performances which will entertain you through a series of short recitals at 2:00pm.

Recitals are as follows:
Kilda - Chatelherault Country Park, Sunday 12 March
Routes String Quartet - Lanark Memorial Hall, Monday 13 March
Ross Wilson - Rutherglen Town Hall, Tuesday 14 March
Sergeant-Watt Duo - East Kilbride Arts Centre, Wednesday 15 March
Svetlina Stoyanova and Kristina Yorgova - The Town House Hamilton, Friday 17 March

Tickets are free but should be booked in advance via venue box offices
