This year’s event was a huge success with just over 280 competitors taking part aged 8 +. In addition to this year’s event we had Big Bobble hats who support all SLLC events, the Clydesdale Colts selling home baking, tea, coffee and hot dogs and Glasgow College students offering post race massaging to all competitors at the finish.

The event attracted both experienced Age group Duathletes and first timers along with the Relay teams. In the men’s race Stuart Paterson from Grangemouth Tri managed to take the win after coming into T2 just 30 seconds behind Lewis Strachan from Pro Endurance.

In the women’s race Kirsty O’Brian from Lanark Tri club had a convincing lead coming off the bike and managed to hold off Kirsten Cameron, Exhale athlete, on the second run.

In the afternoon the Tri Star events were all very exciting seeing just over 100 athletes aged 8-16 years taking part in their age groups.

A huge well done to all SLLC ACE athletes who took part in their first ever event on Sunday.

South Lanarkshire leisure and culture would like to thank all the volunteers who came along and helped out on the day.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
