Activage Meets ACE
We ran an exclusive ACE membership competition in the last edition of The Works (magazine for all South Lanarkshire employees).
The lucky winner of a year’s membership – and unlimited access to leisure, culture and arts classes across South Lanarkshire for a child under 16 – was Stephen Land, sheltered housing officer in Carluke.
Stephen entered for his two-year-old granddaughter Isla Lynn, who loves the water and can now become a regular, not only at her local pool in Carluke, but at the many pre-school classes covered by the ACE membership.
“I was delighted to get the call telling me I’d won”, said Stephen. “I’m actually just in the process of completing my Activage application with SLLC as I have just begun my phased retirement. It means I will now have the time and the opportunity to make my visits to our local classes, a real family event.
“Isla loves the water, so swimming down at Carluke Leisure Centre will be a joint outing on the calendar that’s for sure.”
Gerry Campbell, General Manager of SLLC, added: “We were delighted to hear back from Stephen about his plans for the year’s free ACE membership, and even more encouraged to hear that with him signing up to our Activage package too, it would offer new opportunities to the family.
“Isla can access our Early Years classes where she can join in the fun and try out the fantastic activities on offer – the perfect opportunity to meet new friends and be physically active.
“Whilst, as well as splashing with his granddaughter in the pool, Stephen can start his phased retirement on an active footing thanks to Activage, our membership specifically for South Lanarkshire residents aged 60+, and offering access to all mainstream leisure services for just over £50 a year.”
