Youngsters from across South Lanarkshire embraced the sunshine and gathered at Chatelherault Country Park for a lively and engaging Bookbug event last month.
The outdoor session offered families the perfect opportunity to enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes in a fun and relaxed environment helping bring books to life in a beautiful natural setting.
Bookbug is a national book-sharing programme that aims to inspire a lifelong love of reading from an early age.
Delivered in partnership with the Scottish Book Trust, local authorities, libraries, and health trusts, the programme supports families to build early literacy and strong bonds through shared reading experiences.
The event at Chatelherault was just one of many held throughout the year, all designed to nurture a joy for books and language among Scotland’s youngest readers.
