SLLC’s Culture department offer a wide range of “art” activities to the local community which includes painting and drawing, ceramics, stained glass, dressmaking, traditional arts and crafts, guitar, drumming and much more.
All our tutors are talented artists and committed to inspiring participants of all ages and abilities in their creative work by passing on their expert knowledge and techniques to participants whilst building up their confidence to express themselves in whatever way they wish.
This exhibition showcases the wealth of talent that we are lucky to have within our family of “tutors”.

Join the Scottish Chamber Orchestra for an electrifying evening of musical contrasts that span centuries, emotions and styles. Featuring works by Haydn, Capperauld and Beethoven, this programme showcases the Orchestra’s versatility and artistry in full force.
The concert begins with Haydn's Symphony No. 80 in D minor, a masterful blend of dramatic tension and playful elegance.
Next, the spotlight turns to the world premiere of Rewired, a dynamic new concerto for soprano saxophone and chamber orchestra written by SCO Associate Composer Jay Capperauld, with the outstanding Lewis Banks as soloist.
The concert concludes with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 in B-flat, a radiant masterpiece often described as his most joyful symphony. Overflowing with energy and wit, this work is a perfect finale to a night of captivating contrasts.

Folksy Theatre invites you to experience a brand new musical adaptation of this classic tale, touring open air throughout summer 2025! Join us for bespoke building and creative construction between 10:30am-12:30pm on the first and third Saturdays of each month between February and October.
Whether our budding builders follow our changing weekly theme or create their own construction, we offer each participant the opportunity to showcase their brilliant builds between sessions in our special display cases in the museum’s reception area.
