Join the Scottish Chamber Orchestra for an electrifying evening of musical contrasts that span centuries, emotions and styles. Featuring works by Haydn, Capperauld and Beethoven, this programme showcases the Orchestra’s versatility and artistry in full force.
The concert begins with Haydn's Symphony No. 80 in D minor, a masterful blend of dramatic tension and playful elegance.
Next, the spotlight turns to the world premiere of Rewired, a dynamic new concerto for soprano saxophone and chamber orchestra written by SCO Associate Composer Jay Capperauld, with the outstanding Lewis Banks as soloist.
The concert concludes with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 in B-flat, a radiant masterpiece often described as his most joyful symphony. Overflowing with energy and wit, this work is a perfect finale to a night of captivating contrasts.
