Jaimie Baird exhibition

Jamie began painting when he was in prison. He quickly realised that he enjoyed painting and it passed time whilst he was locked up at night.

As he continued to paint, people were commenting on his work and encouraging him to keep doing it. He realised it was a focus that played a huge part in his recovery from substance misuse. He is now currently four years clean and sober.

The majority of canvases on display have been painted using acrylic during his time in prison. Jamie is still developing and trying new techniques and styles but has really enjoyed the use of colour.

Most of the images displayed hold a special meaning to him.

Coming from the lifestyle that Jamie used to live he could never have imagined himself becoming an artist. He is hoping to use this new found skill to help build a legitimate future.
