Random Palace jottings - The great dining room

Random Palace jottings - The great dining room

The Dining Room was beautifully decorated with carved wooden panels by William Morgan. It was acquired in 1924 for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. It was gifted by Mrs. Frederick T Bradbury as a memorial to Boston philanthropist, George Robert White. The dining room was one of many rooms sold intact as the Palace was being demolished. This included the interior wall panels, fireplace, ceiling, and chandeliers. The room was restored and reassembled in 2013 as a gallery displaying large collection of English silverware.

You can read more and see the Dining Room in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts website.
