Marlaw Pottery Figure

Marlaw Pottery Figure

These ceramic figures, on display in Hamilton Town House Reference Library, were made by the Marlaw Pottery Company in Hamilton. They are part of a range of comical figures showing men in Highland dress, engaged in a number of typically Scottish activities, such as playing the bagpipes and tossing the caber!

We believe the figures are relatively modern, made possibly in the 1970s or early 1980s.

It has proven very difficult to track down any information relating to the Marlaw Pottery Company; at present we don’t know where in Hamilton the Company was based.

Do you have any information on the Marlaw Pottery Company? If so, we would be delighted to hear from you.
