Level 4 implications in South Lanarkshire commencing 20 November 2020

As many of us will have expected, the First Minister announced this afternoon that South Lanarkshire along with other local authorities within the central belt will be placed on Protection Level 4 of the Scottish Government’s Covid 19 Framework.  The resulting new restrictions will start this Friday for a period of three weeks.

David Booth, SLLC General Manager said “Unfortunately, Level 4 restrictions mean that we will have to temporarily close many of the services we have already recovered. Sports Centres, swimming pools, libraries, cafés and our museum will have to close to the public. Outdoor contact sports such as football and rugby will also have to cease.

This is hugely frustrating for our team, who have worked tirelessly to bring our services back from the original lockdown, and for our customers, who have stuck with us during these testing times.

On a positive note, some of services that have already recovered will be able to continue within Level 4, albeit with tweaks here and there.  Looking ahead with optimism, we have already made the adaptations required to run our facilities and operations during Covid, which means that we can quickly step our services back up again as soon as it is appropriate to do so.”
