Swim Programme Gala Tournament

Give your child the chance to experience the excitement of a fun swimming gala in a relaxed and supportive environment! Our Swim Programme Gala Tournament is open to swimmers in Swim Skills 3, Swim Skills 4, Club Ready and Rookie Lifeguard.

This friendly event is designed to help children put their swimming skills into practice, build confidence and enjoy the excitement of racing. It's a fantastic opportunity to:

• Experience a fun gala atmosphere without the pressure of formal competition.
• Develop confidence in the water and in front of spectators.
• Challenge themselves and celebrate their progress.
• Improve race skills, starts and turns.
• Support teammates, show great sportsmanship and make new friends.
• Have fun while creating lasting memories with their swim class.

There will be a mixture of individual and team events, giving every swimmer the chance to get involved.

Events

Front Crawl – 1 length
Back Crawl – 1 length
Breaststroke – 1 length
Dolphin Race – 1 length using flippers
Race Against the Teacher – swimmers receive a 10-metre head start (teacher placings recorded!)
Sinker Baton Passing Relay
Relay Race with Float
Obstacle Race, including:

• Jumping into the deepest section
• Retrieving a sinker
• Changing stroke
• Collecting balls to knock over floating targets

Friday 7 August

Lanark Lifestyles: 10:30am–12:00pm

Strathaven: 12:00pm–1:30pm

Carluke: 12:00pm–1:30pm

Saturday 8 August

Coalburn: 12:30pm–2:00pm

Larkhall: 1:00pm–2:30pm

Saturday 15 August

Hamilton: 1:30pm–3:00pm

Cost

£6.65 and £5.00 concession.
