Launching in August, Low Parks Museum will offer a varied programme of afternoon entertainment each month with its Music in the Museum programme.

Delight in hearing the eighteenth-century Assembly Room filled with music to suit a wide variety of tastes, courtesy of a selection of top-class musicians from across Scotland. Join us on the second Thursday of each month at 2pm for an engaging opportunity to enjoy quality live music in the afternoon.

A classical guitar ensemble formed at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where all three members are currently studying. They share a strong interest in making music together, as well as a passion for exploring the guitar’s chamber repertoire.

Troppos plays music that wants to be danced to, presenting audiences with passion packed programmes featuring the sounds of Spain and Latin America.

FARA are a powerhouse in the Scottish folk music scene, igniting stages with their magnetic blend of spellbinding vocals, intricate harmonies, and driving fiddle tunes rooted in rich tradition of the Orkney Islands. With three award winning fiddlers Kristan Harvey, Jeana Leslie, and Catriona Price joined by the sensational Rory Matheson on piano, FARA deliver a sound that is bold, passionate, and unmistakably their own. Steeped in the centuries old musical heritage of the Orkney Islands FARA breathe new life into existing melodies while crafting original compositions that push the tradition forward. Their signature style weaves fiery fiddle sets with lyrical songwriting and three-part harmonies that soar with emotional intensity, creating performances that are as stirring as they are unforgettable.

Join us for bespoke building and creative construction between 10:30am-12:30pm on the first and third Saturdays of each month between February and October.

Whether our budding builders follow our changing weekly theme or create their own construction, we offer each participant the opportunity to showcase their brilliant builds between sessions in our special display cases in the museum’s reception area.

Only £4.25 per session, please book at reception as spaces are limited.
