The Junkie Miracles

'The Junkie Miracles' tells the stories of four drug addicts on the day they decided to get help. It tells the stories of four recovering addicts, the abyss in which they find themselves, and the experiences that finally shook them hard enough to get themselves into recovery.

Des asked these people to tell the worst day of their lives, the day they hit rock bottom and made them want to recover. So, these are four stories of people hitting that rock bottom, and eventually coming back out of that in some way or another. They aren’t all necessarily happy endings either. Ultimately, we need to realise that these people are human beings.

It is hoped this play expands people’s acceptance and empathy for other human beings who have fallen outside of the circle for what many consider to be ‘acceptable’ in life. These stories have been under-represented in Scotland, and only by telling them can we change the stigma.

An Evening with Robert and May Miller

Robert and May have worked together since 1988.

Through the years they have established quite a following of loyal fans and more recently members from their ever-popular Millerettes Club which began during the Covid years.

They always like to bring something different to their theatre shows and this time they have Liam Dolan presenting the show. Regular visitors to the theatre already know of May's humour so along with Liam, there should be a few more laughs than usual.

Jane Henderson is always present at the East Kilbride shows and if you have not heard her sing before you are in for a treat - she has a phenomenal voice.

The last couple of shows also included the talents of Aileen Finn who is now becoming a favourite with the Robert and May audience. Aileen is a great vocalist with years of experience under her belt.

There are always new songs and stories at these nights so if you like great music and good banter then East Kilbride Theatre is the place to be.
