Springsteen by Robertson 13 June 2024 7:30pm £15.00 East Kilbride Arts Centre
Springsteen by Robertson aims to capture a flavour of the Netflix phenomenon that is known as Springsteen On Broadway.
The Springsteen by Robertson project has been meticulously stitched together by Dougie Robertson, the founder and front man from The Springsteen Sessions, and Peter McAteer, his long time musical friend and collaborator to bring a little of the Springsteen On Broadway magic to UK theatres.
Drawing musical inspiration from the Springsteen On Broadway show, our production is looking to deliver the range and depth of material that you'd expect from the Broadway show.
Stripping the Bosses songs right back to their original state and putting them under the spotlight, brings a certain excitement to the project.
For those of you who were lucky enough to have attended the Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway and to the many, many thousands who watched on Netflix, we do hope you enjoy our version of Springsteen on Broadway.

Mr Shakespeare 14 June 2024 7:30pm £15.00 East Kilbride Arts Centre
Direct from an acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Festival this powerful new play comes to the Arts Centre.
It's 1606. William Shakespeare is isolated in his rooms to avoid contagion. A suspicious Scottish King shaken by the recent gun-powder plot, sees plotters every-where.
Meanwhile, Mister Shakespeare is trying to cope.
Actors shout for new roles; his brother whines for help, his wife wants her marriage back; his lover wants ...love. Ghostly voices to endure, and those incessant church bells. Despite the clamour, he is inspired to write at least three of the master-pieces we know today, King Lear, Antony and Cleopatra and Macbeth.
In this new play by Michael Barry, brought to you by the team who created ‘The Eva Cassidy Story’, we explore Shakespeare the man, the father, the actor, and the entrepreneur, a very human bard: ambitious, troubled, trying to make sense from the chaos around him: creating in confinement.
