Shiona is deaf and has had to adapt to the changes of the enviroment around her throughout her entire life. This was inspired by her, to show that deafness is not to be treated so much like a disbility, and to provoke a change of attitude and awareness towards people who are deaf.

John Cumming Stadium

The John Cumming Stadium is situated up the hill next to Carluke Leisure Centre and offers first class track and football facilities. 

The stadium is named after the local football player John Cumming. John started his career with Carluke Rovers and then went onto to play for Heart of Midlothian, where he became the most decorated player in Hearts history. He was also capped for Scotland.

Athletics activities available include

8 Lane 400M synthetic surface track
8 Lane home and back straight, for 100M and
110M hurdles
Long jump and Triple jump
High jump
Shot Putt

Pitch activities available include

3G synthetic grass football pitch
11-a-side Football
7-a-side Football
Changing Facilities: The facility itself, boasts home and away changing dressing rooms, male and female official changing rooms and 7-a-side male and female changing rooms.
Floodlights: The Stadium has floodlights.

Disabled access
The Stadium has disabled parking (4 spaces), automatic entrance doors, accessible reception, accessible changing area, accessible toilet, courtesy wheelchair, Hearing Loop, Language Line and Typetalk. Assistance dogs are welcome.
