There's something for everyone at this four star visitor attraction. Visit the meerkats and monkeys at the zoo, enjoy the art and photographic exhibitions in The Gallery and let the children burn some energy in the adventure playground and toddler's play area. Take a stroll through the 5km of scenic river-side woodlands and enjoy refreshments back at the Courtyard Café. There is also an exciting programme of events and activities at the park throughout the year.
Enjoy the panoramic views of Glasgow and its surrounding hills from the front of the 18th century hunting lodge on the grounds of this five star visitor attraction. View the banqueting suite and formal gardens of the Duke of Hamilton and find out about its history in the visitor centre. Enjoy a snack or some lunch in the Oak Trees café and visit our gift shop. There are 10 miles of beautiful walks, with guided walks available, along the banks of the River Avon and among ancient woodland. The highlight for many children is the large adventure playground and fun programme of children's activities.
Get outdoor and active at James Hamilton Heritage Park. This four star visitor attraction is ideal if you want to try something a bit different. There is a wide range of water sports on offer. 'Come and try' sessions are available for adults and children in canoeing, dinghy sailing and windsurfing. Fun boats are also popular along with the two adventure playgrounds. There is a buggy friendly path walk around the loch and a bird sanctuary for wildlife enthusiasts. To round off your visit, pop into Gracies café which offers a delicious menu and views of the loch. Please note that water sports activities are seasonal.
As well as our larger country parks, South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture offer various activities at Lanark Loch, Strathaven Park and Biggar Park. Activities range from putting, bowling and tennis to children's play parks, pedalos and bumper boats. Please note that some of these activities are seasonal.
For an extra 'cool' family day out, glide along to East Kilbride Ice Rink. There are general skate sessions through the week, and family sessions on Saturdays 5:30pm-7pm and Sundays 11:30am-1pm.
Four star tourist attraction, Hamilton Water Palace, features a 25m pool, flume, tyre slide and lazy river. There is also a fantastic under 8s shallow pool complete with pirate ship! For the over 16s in the family, there is a sauna, steam room, spa pool and relaxation area. After your family has had a splash, why not enjoy a snack and a Puro coffee at our popular café?
Dollan Aqua Centre in East Kilbride boasts South Lanarkshire's only 50m swimming pool. There is also a health suite, sauna, steam room, sanarium, spa pool and relaxation area for over 16s. Enjoy a hearty lunch after your swim at our modern café.

The whole family can have fun while discovering local history, from Hamilton Palace to local regiment, The Cameronians. The Mezannine café caters for all tastes, whether you want a tasty treat or a healthy lunch. Our gift shop's range includes unique gifts and 'pocket money' mementos. Tours of the nearby Hamilton Mausoleum can also be booked in advance from Low Parks Museum. Give it a try and experience the famous 15-second echo of this extravagant private tomb.
