Hamilton Town House Library


Hamilton Town House library reading room

Hamilton Town House Library is located at 102 Cadzow Street adjacent to Cadzow Bridge in Hamilton. The building is a magnificent and historic Carnegie Library dating to 1907, having been extensively refurbished in 2004.

The library provides adult fiction and non-fiction books, photocopier, children's library and many children's activities. Regular activities for adults in the library include Book Groups, ‘Moody Monday’ craft sessions, Reminiscence sessions, Employability Skills sessions and guidance with digital skills for Universal Credit by appointment.

There is a large local history collection and a wide range of family history resources with specialist staff to assist. A quiet reading room is available for study and research, along with an extensive printed reference collection.

The library has a large ActiveIT Learning Centre with 4 Chromeboxes and 6 PCs offering free Internet and WiFi. A self-contained IT training suite with 12 computers can be booked for group use.

Car parking is available close to the library in public car parks and on-street (pay) parking.

The building has good disabled access including external and internal ramps and lift access to the upper floor. Contact the library for further details. Assistance dogs are welcome.
