Strathaven Drama club are a group of young people from the local communities of Strathaven. Focussed on building confidence, resilience and inclusiveness for everyone aged 4-18. The club have performed many musicals including “School of Rock”, “The Greatest Showman”, “Matilda” and our latest performance of “Shrek the Musical”.

Some of our members have been successful in gaining places in well-known Theatre schools and gone on to perform in large productions. We are very proud of them and encourage everyone to follow their dreams.

The classes and performances our members have experienced with us have provided them with the foundations required to pursue professional careers in the arts industry and we are proud that we provide the entire company with the foundations required to allow them to lead a fulfilling life in any industry.

Get Crafty

Get Crafty is a weekly craft class where you will try a different craft activity each week. For the festival, over 2 weeks you will create a felted picture. The first week you will make felt using the wet technique. The second week you will embellish the felt to create a picture. It would be beneficial to attend both weeks.

Please bring along an old hand towel and rubber gloves.

Weaving Masterclass 18 March 2024 1:00pm - 4:00pm £23.15 / £17.35 concession Rutherglen Town Hall

You will learn about the basics of weaving and use a variety of techniques to provide texture to your weave.  These will be demonstrated and taught to you. Looms will be provided and a variety of wools but if you have some yarns of your own you are welcome to bring these too.

There will be an opportunity to sample using an 8-shaft loom.

You will have a completed sample weave from the class.
