Active Schools

Active Schools

Active Schools is a team of people working within the school and the wider community in South Lanarkshire. Their goal is to offer all children and young people the motivation and opportunities to 'get active'.

In practice, this means that their job is to increase the number of opportunities for all young people to get engaged in physical activity and sport.  This involves recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to deliver activity.  They also try to build bridges with sports clubs and other community organisations to give pupils a 'pathway' to continue their participation in sport outside of the school gates.

Active Schools CPD

During 2012-13 Active Schools will be running a variety of workshops and training sessions in a variety of sports and activities which will help support the schools curricular and extra curricular programme.
